My client is one of the world's leading providers of intelligent solutions to the oil & gas industry.
They are looking for an engineering manager for their site based south of Edinburgh.
Management of the mechanical engineering function for all research, development & engineering activities (RD&E), both for projects you are managing and projects/activities managed by others, including:
a. Development of organisation and structure
b. Recruitment/resourcing
c. Training
d. Performance management
e. Succession planning
f. Management reporting
g. Budgeting and expenditure control
h. As a member of the RD&E management team the role will involve attendance at the monthly management meetings.
Management of RD&E projects, which, dependant on individual projects may involve electronic and software engineering activities, including:
aPreparing project plans, budgets etc.
Presenting project plans and progress reports to senior management, using the Weatherford new product development process.
Leading project teams and implementing project plans, allocating project tasks to team members.
Ensuring engineering, design, development, build and test (lab and field testing) activities are completed to the required standard and to the agreed timescales.
Control of project expenditure inline with approved budgets. Management reporting of project progress.
Working with the appropriate P&SS business units as part of the commercialisation team.
Generate new product ideas for input to the new product development process
Authoring and presenting technical papers and articles
Manage the provision & maintenance of workshop equipment at the P&SS Edinburgh site.
Any other delegated tasks as required by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfill these.
